Yogassage with Jeff Boyd

What is Yogassage?

Yogassage is a combination of Yin Yoga with massage. The class will be hosted by experienced Yoga and massage instructors there to offer assistance with postures combined with massage. With the combination of Yoga and Massage in one session, this allows the combined efforts to be maximized and blissful. The concept of yoga and massage have been around since the beginning when yoga started. Yogassage is a new approach that allows students leaving the class feeling more energized, calm minded and with a decrease sense of tension built up in their bodies.

Jeff Boyd

Jeff Boyd is an East Coaster who has always hated writing in the third person. From a young age he was immersed in athletics, attempting to overcome the limitations of being born with a severe clubbed foot. In his later teens, he found a passion for rugby, a sport he was heavily involved in as both a player and a coach for a decade.

Yoga first came into Jeff’s life as a way to rehabilitate from injuries obtained on the playing field. It was a snapped Achilles that led to a true understanding of the abuse he had put himself through. He realized that the body is our most tangible form of reality; something to be worked with and for. Jeff began to dedicate more time to cultivating mindfulness in his actions, and this lead to a steady yoga practice. He believes in always learning, always growing, and his certifications include:

  • Yogassage with Brit Firth
  • Yin Yoga with Danielle Hoogenboom
  • RYT200hr Vinyassa training with Dina Tsoulous, founder of Moksha Flow.

He continues to inform his own body and teaching through practicing many styles of yoga, as well as explorations in dance, sound healing, contact improv, acroyoga, thai massage and clowning.

Informed by his injuries and his early limitations, Jeff is a firm believer that yoga can and should be accessible to all. He advocates that mindful movement and breath are tools, that can be used by everyone to find strength and ease in their bodies. He also feels that our mindfulness needs to extend beyond our own physical body and our practice on the mat
